In a celebration of sport, activity and wellbeing, Mapei will reportedly focus on systems and solutions for sport surfaces at this year’s Clerkenwell Design Week.
Colour and texture will take centre stage at the Mapei World London City Specification Centre, in Great Sutton Street, supported by product displays, demonstrations, sport-themed interactive challenges and workshops.
Mapei’s products span an array of sports, from adhesives for running tracks and sub-bases for synthetic grass, to decorative resin finishes for playing courts and full waterproofing and tiling systems for swimming pools and leisure centres. Exhibits across the three-day event will showcase these systems and visitors can also take part in hands-on themed experiences and sporting challenges throughout the three-day festival.
Sport is part of Mapei’s DNA both locally and internationally, the company says, from historical links with cycling and football, to newer initiatives in sailing and basketball. From 1993 to 2002: Mapei sponsored a professional cycling team that reached the top of international rankings and achieved 654 victories. Mapei owns U.S. Sassuolo Calcio football club, men’s and women’s teams across all categories and has seen the men’s first team progress to Serie A.
In 2022: Mapei became Global Sponsor of professional sailor and ocean navigator, Ambrogio Beccaria, who last year successfully finished second in the “Route du Rhom” class 40 category.
Mapei UK’s own proud connection with sport includes sponsorship of professional golfer Adrian Otaegui, PGA Coach Chris Ryan, as well as Halesowen Town Football Club and Halesowen Cycling Club.
Mapei says it looks forward to welcoming visitors across the three-day festival – from 23-25 May – at Mapei World London City, 6 Great Sutton Street, London EC1V 0BX.
