Mapei UltraCare suitable for stone tiles

Mapei’s UltraCare range aims to provide solutions for every step of floor maintenance, as well as problem-solvers to tackle specific issues. Products are designed for all types of natural stone and tile finishes and can reportedly be used in all settings, from domestic to industrial environments. Throughout the range, treatments also boast Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification and are included within Mapei UK’s Zero Line, with CO2 offset in the entire life cycle.

Ongoing maintenance with UltraCare Multicleaner
For everyday maintenance and deep cleaning, UltraCare Multicleaner is described as a versatile and highly concentrated pH-neutral solution that can be used at different dilutions. At a low 1:30 dilution, the cleaner can be used to remove cementitious residues and to deep clean natural stone, whilst a 1:200 dilution is used for daily non-rinse, streak-free cleaning.

UltraCare Multicleaner is formulated for all types of engineered and natural stone surfaces, as well as glass mosaics, concrete, LVT, PVC, linoleum, resin floors, polished concrete and industrial floors. UltraCare Multicleaner Spray – the ready-to-use format – offers an alternative in a pump spray bottle, suitable for cleaning stone surfaces and splashbacks, as well as worktops, glass, mirrors and shower screens.

Tackling residues, stains & deposits
Stubborn wax and greasy deposits, fixing residues and rust can be difficult to remove from tiles and stone, especially as many natural tiles are sensitive to acids. The UltraCare range includes four products to tackle these issues:
UltraCare HD Cleaner is a concentrated degreaser and deep cleaner for porcelain, ceramic and unpolished natural stone. It removes organic dirt, grease and wax, and can be used to degrease substrates to allow tile-on-tile installations.

UltraCare Acid Cleaner and UltraCare Keranet are formulated to remove cementitious residues and rust marks from porcelain, ceramic and acid-resistant natural stone. The treatments can also be used to remove efflorescence and limescale from these surfaces. Pump spray-format – UltraCare Keranet Easy – is suitable for removing cementitious grout residues during fixing, reportedly reducing the time to undertake a Builders Clean.

Removing epoxy & maintaining grout
For pristine joints, Mapei says, the range includes UltraCare Epoxy Off Gel and UltraCare Kerapoxy Cleaner. As its name describes, UltraCare Epoxy Off Gel removes fully-cured epoxy residues, whilst UltraCare Kerapoxy Cleaner removes epoxy residues at point of installation, or within 72 hours.

UltraCare Fuga Fresca Grout Refresh – a polymeric paint-based treatment – can be used to revive old cementitious grout, or to correct unevenness. It is available in 40 shades.
For ongoing maintenance, the UltraCare range also includes ready-to-use pump spray UltraCare Grout Cleaner, which deep cleans cement and epoxy grouts.

A solution for silicone seals
To promote a flawless silicone seal, UltraCare Smooth Silicone eliminates ghosting/halos and helps avoid hollows, where dirt and moisture can sit. It’s also suitable in LVT installations, to help achieve a seamless joint around the perimeter of a room.

Removing stains & rust
To tackle stains on existing floors, the range includes UltraCare Rust Remover and UltraCare Stain Remover. UltraCare Rust Remover is a fast-acting, acid-free treatment designed to remove surface and deeply penetrated rust from all types of tile, including acid-sensitive stone. For organic grease and oil stains – including engine and hydraulic oil – UltraCare Stain Remover quickly removes marks from porous surfaces. Both treatments have a thick paste-like consistency that allows targeted treatment and reduces waste.

Alongside Mapei’s UltraCare cleaners, the range also includes a series of UltraCare protectors, designed to meet specific requirements – from colour enhancing and providing water and oil-repellent protection, to protection prior to grouting.
