Mapei’s UltraCare range has been designed to address every step of floor protection and maintenance. The treatments are suitable for all types of natural stone and tile finishes and can be used in all settings. Throughout the range, treatments also feature Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification and are included within Mapei UK’s Zero Line, with CO2 fully offset in the entire life cycle.
New for 2025
Two protective wax finishes have joined the UltraCare series for 2025. Both treatments are designed to create a wear- and stain-resistant finish and can be applied to all types of unpolished natural stone installed indoors; UltraCare Finish Opaca has a matt finish, while UltraCare Finish Lucida has a glossy finish.
The liquid waxes are formulated to offer protection against a range of stains caused by grease, oil and acid-based liquids and promote easy maintenance. Polymers and waxes within the finishes also provide transparency, elasticity and reduced slipperiness.
The treatments are said to be quick and easy to apply and, once dry, can be buffed; in the case of Opaca, this can be carried out to achieve a satin-type finish. To maintain tile lustre, they can also be diluted with water and applied periodically.
Ongoing maintenance with UltraCare
For everyday tile maintenance and deep cleaning, UltraCare Multicleaner is described as a versatile and highly concentrated pH-neutral solution that can be used at different dilutions. The solution is formulated for all types of engineered and natural stone surfaces, including external porcelain, and is also available in a pump spray bottle for indoor daily surface care.
Tackling residues, stains & deposits
The UltraCare range includes five products to tackle these issues:
UltraCare HD Cleaner is a concentrated degreaser and deep cleaner for porcelain, ceramic and unpolished natural stone. It quickly removes organic dirt, grease and wax, as well as algae and blackspot from external pavers.
Ultracare Acid Cleaner and Ultracare Keranet are formulated to remove cementitious residues and rust marks, as well as efflorescence and limescale, from porcelain, ceramic and acid-resistant natural stone.
To tackle rust stains and oil-based stains on existing floors, the range includes UltraCare Rust Remover and UltraCare Stain Remover. Rust Remover is designed to remove surface and deeply penetrated rust from all types of tile, whereas Stain Remover quickly removes marks from porous surfaces. Both treatments have a thick paste-like consistency that allows targeted treatment and reduces waste.
Solutions for epoxy, grout & silicone
For joints, the range includes UltraCare Epoxy Off Gel and UltraCare Kerapoxy Cleaner. Epoxy Off Gel removes fully-cured epoxy residues, whilst UltraCare Kerapoxy Cleaner removes epoxy residues at point of installation, or within 72 hours.
After grouting, UltraCare Fuga Fresca Grout Refresh – a polymeric paint-based treatment – can be applied to protect joints and make routine cleaning easier. For ongoing maintenance, the UltraCare range also includes ready-to-use pump spray UltraCare Grout Cleaner, which deep cleans cement and epoxy grouts.
Meanwhile, to promote a flawless silicone seal, UltraCare Smooth Silicone eliminates ghosting/halos and helps avoid hollows, where dirt and moisture can sit.
Removing & protecting against mould
Two UltraCare treatments are designed to tackle mould spores, algae and fungus: UltraCare Deep Cleaner Spray and UltraCare Deep Protector Spray. Deep Cleaner Spray is a high-penetration detergent designed to hygienically clean tile and stone surfaces, glass, brick and cementitious grout. After cleaning, Deep Protector Spray is aimed to give long-lasting protection against the formation of spores, without altering appearance.
Protection – before & after installation
Alongside Mapei’s UltraCare cleaners – and the new Finish liquid waxes – the range also includes a series of protectors and intensifiers designed to meet various specific requirements. All of the solutions are said to be non-film forming, breathable and UV resistant and are easy to apply with a brush, cloth or fleece applicator.
