Weber, a manufacturer of building products including tile adhesives, hosted an educational day for its employees on May 22, focused on Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) issues.
The company says: “The health and safety of our employees, customers and suppliers are always top priority at Weber. It is considered everyone’s responsibility to recognise unsafe or unhealthy behaviour as part of our working week, but once a year, the entirety of Saint-Gobain pause for a day, to work together to look and learn about EHS issues.”
The full-day agenda was designed to enable colleagues to engage in an interactive way, connecting their role with “our purpose, our strategy, and our principles of conduct and action,” Weber says.
The day primarily focused on the aspects of EHS most relevant to Weber’s UK & Ireland sites in Flitwick, Telford, and Ballyclare and the local community. It focused on the health and wellbeing of colleagues and their families, the details of the company’s support for employees and where it can be accessed.
The event also featured activities focusing on Weber’s solutions for light and sustainable construction and how the company aims to change things for the better and help tackle some of society’s major challenges, so that people understand how they are contributing.
