Solus Ceramics appoints sustainability manager

Solus Ceramics has announced the appointment of Ken Graham as sustainability manager. The company says the appointment is part of its ongoing commitment to sustainable business practices.

Graham qualified as an energy consultant in the UK in 1986, before emigrating to New Zealand, where he was recruited by the country’s government to promote energy efficiency and conservation for homeowners and businesses throughout the country. He worked in several sectors including rubber tyre, plastics, cardboard, glass recycling; food waste management, and water management before gaining higher level sustainability management qualifications. These qualifications have enabled Graham to develop sustainability management plans and supplier assessments.

The company says it sources several ranges from EMAS and ECO-label certified factories in Europe, displaying the respective logos on all compliant products. It’s also introduced several initiatives to reduce its own environmental impact, with the aim of limiting energy consumption and waste to landfill, as well as increasing recycling.

The appointment follows the company’s announcement in April that it has partnered with Florim, a B Corp certified ceramics company.
