Sacmi Do Brasil has announced the construction of a technical hub for tiles, to be located in Rio Claro, in the heart of Brazil’s main ceramic-producing district. Andrea Cannella, General Manager of SACMI do Brasil, said: “This will bring us even closer to our customers with ever-faster, more punctual assistance from our team of specialists”. All against the backdrop of Brazil’s steadily growing installed machine pool.
A technical and assistance hub in the heart of the Ceramic District of Santa Gertrudes and Rio Claro, work on this project has already begun at Rua 23, n.155 Jardim Rio Claro.
Founded in 1969, SACMI do Brasil was one of the group’s first international branches. Since 1997, the long-standing headquarters in Mogi Mirim has also been manufacturing kilns and driers. It’s also the focal point for all the group businesses’ after-sales services, it says.
This latest SACMI hub is being established to provide customers with even closer support and ensure fast remote and on-site service. The site is located in the middle of a district that produces almost 50% of the country’s ceramic ware.
The project comes in the wake of a steady expansion of the installed SACMI machine pool in Brazil in recent years: which the company calls a clear indicator of the vitality of a market which is always eager to seize technological opportunities and enhance the aesthetic, technical and functional properties of its ceramics.
“One of the advantages of establishing this facility,” said Cannella, “is that it brings all our technicians under one roof, allowing us to streamline work and equip them with cutting-edge tools. This means our team of specialists can enact orders quickly and offer a fast, coordinated response by providing either virtual assistance or prompt on-site intervention.”
A SACMI spare parts warehouse will also be located at the Rio Claro facility. This is aimed to ensure the immediate availability of numerous product codes and provide a machine parts reconditioning service (e.g. hydraulic press pistons and pressure multipliers). There will also be a sales office for the various product channels (machines, spare parts, revamping).
Cannella continued: “The new hub is located less than 90km from our main headquarters. That’s pretty close, and we believe it’ll make a decisive difference in terms of providing an even faster, more proactive service. By pushing ahead with this project SACMI has chosen to be right at the heart of the manufacturing area; we want to send a clear message to our Brazilian customers, who have continued to place their trust in us over the years by rewarding the quality of our products and services”.
