Mapei’s fast-track adhesive – Keraquick S1 – is the latest product to join the company’s Zero line of carbon offset products. A deformable, non-slip cementitious adhesive for tiles and stone, Keraquick S1 Zero reportedly benefits from a very low VOC EMICODE: EC1 Plus certified formulation. The combined properties are designed to provide a safe, high-performance solution for contractors and specifiers, with CO2 fully offset in the entire life cycle.
The Zero line portfolio is said to demonstrate Mapei’s commitment to the planet, to people and to biodiversity. Through the initiative, CO2 emissions – measured throughout the life cycle of products from the Zero line in 2024 using life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology, verified and certified with EPDs – have been offset through reforestation projects and protection of biodiversity.
Keraquick S1 Zero can be used to bond ceramic, porcelain and moisture stable natural stone tiles and mosaics to a range of substrates, including screeds, concrete, plywood overlaid floors, existing unglazed ceramics, cement-based render, gypsum plaster, plasterboard and tilebacker boards. The adhesive can also be used to install various insulating materials and is suitable for interior and exterior use. Tiles can be grouted and can accept light foot traffic after two hours and surfaces returned to full use after 24 hours.
