The internationalisation of Portobello Group is a concrete reality, the company says. The group has expanded its operations from South America (Brazil) to other continents, most recently with a new manufacturing unit opened in the USA.
The company also has plans to establish regional offices in Europe and in the Middle East by January 2024. Already established in Latin America, Portobello Grupo has been exhibiting in the main tile shows worldwide such as Cersaie/Italy, Coverings/USA, Expo Revestir/Brazil.
The group says its protagonism is evidenced through a consistent launch of products with innovation, original design and sustainable production. Acting as a global multichannel distributor, the group exports to more than 60 countries worldwide through partners in distribution, retail chains and projects. In Brazil, the group has a network of 145 flagship stores, “Portobello Shop,” offering exclusive products, serving end consumers and interacting with a network of 40,000 architects and interior designers.
Every year, the company invites its main B2B partners worldwide to visit its presentation at Expo Revestir show – an expansive booth with over 1000sqm of space. Besides attending the show, guests witness what Portobello brand is about through “a very insightful experience at flagship stores, factory tour and visits to emblematic projects Portobello is involved in”. The company says the level of hospitality provided and attention to all details, assure a remarkable visit to the international guests. This year, Expo Revestir show will be held from March 19-22 in São Paulo.
Ahead of upcoming challenges, Gustavo Manique (area manager Europe) explains the company’s strategy and its next steps in Europe. “Being a manufacturer that serves multichannel and also operates direct retail in Brazil sets the group apart from other players.
Experiencing retail allows you to be closer to consumer movements and thus follow product and service trends through consistent, and always up-to-date policies.
He continues: “Our presence in Europe is strengthened by our local partners who distribute and retail our concepts, playing a vital role in our strategy as an extension of our service in their markets. With a regional office in Europe, located in Belgium (very central and easy to move through Europe) we will be in close proximity to them, responding even quicker to demands and opportunities. Furthermore, we will expand our reach to new regions and markets we haven’t been yet.”
