The varied tones and textures of natural slate are said to be the inspiration behind Ceramique Internationale’s recently launched tile collection, Era.
These large format 600x1200mm stone-effect porcelain tiles, by Italian producer Casalgrande Padana, have the “subtle tactile” quality of a sandblasted slate surface.
The Era collection is available in six earthy colours, each one reportedly tailored to appeal to UK interior design and colour trends, and with its own characteristics, according to the distributor: “warm grey Bruna; Bianca with pale grey cloud-like effects; Crema, featuring marble-effect white veining; versatile light grey Perla; minimalist Grigia with cool grey undertones; and dynamic dark grey Pepe”.
The tiles are designed with anti-slip technology and wear-resistance, making them functional and versatile as well as visually striking the company says. They can be used alone or in a variety of combinations in bathrooms and kitchens, hallways and conservatories.
Peter Vann, director at Ceramique Internationale, said: “These modern Era tiles combine stone’s natural charm with porcelain stoneware’s outstanding technical features.
“Their tactile quality and subtle colouring create a play of light and shadow on floors and walls. They are also extremely versatile and can be used in multiple combinations in a wide range of applications.”
