Palace Chemicals grouts range “brings technical excellence to the fore”

The grouts range from Palace Chemicals covers all requirements of wall and floor joint sealing, the company says. It has been built up over 45 years, based on a goal of understanding customer requirements and developing technical formulations which meet those needs. This year, the company’s grouts range (along with its other products) will see a roll-out of rebranded packaging aimed to project the company’s “strong, durable, leading position in the tiling, flooring and DIY markets”.

The range starts with the “super-smooth” Wall Tile Grout for fine joint widths, available in white and ivory. Wide-Joint Grout, for joints up to 20mm, comes in coarse-sanded steel grey.

However, the “hero” products of the Palace grouts range, according to the company, are Anti-Mould Wall & Floor Grout and Colour-Lock Grout.

Palace’s multipurpose Anti-Mould Wall & Floor grout range offers all the combined benefits of great flexural strength, shrink-resistance for use in wide joints, while also featuring a built-in fungicide, which will resist black spot mould growth. It’s suitable for interior and exterior use with all sorts of tiles up to a 15mm joint size and can be applied using a sponge or rubber squeegee. It conforms to BS EN 13888 CG2 WA.

Anti-Mould Wall & Floor Grout is offered across a range of colour shades including White, Bahama Beige, Ivory, Limestone, Anthracite, Sandstone, Grey, Charcoal, Brown, Silver Grey, Graphite and Gun Grey.

At the top of the list of the company’s premium grouts is Palace Colour-Lock Grout, which it describes as a high-performance, fast-setting, polymer-modified product based on specialist lime-free binder technology to ensure the initial colour shade is consistently retained, without being affected by efflorescence or age variation, while still providing a super smooth, highly resilient, fast-setting polymer fortified and mould resistant grout joint. The range of 12 available colours includes Midnight, Raven, Natural Grey, Sterling Silver, Platinum, Mocha, Parchment, Latte, Antique White, Silk, Silver Shadow and Bright White.

Colour-Lock Grout is suitable for wall and floor tile joints up to 20mm wide. It’s said to be easy to mix and can be applied across all types of ceramic tiled surfaces using a grout float or rubber squeegee.

Palace says the product will dry to a hard, durable, shrink resistant, mould resistant and water-repellent finish, making it suitable for use in internal and external locations and especially in sanitary areas, such as kitchens, showers, toilets and bathrooms where inhibition of fungal growth is essential. It’s also suitable for use in locations over heated sub-floors and total submersion.

“Our intention is always to align our product range with changing market requirements, and our leading grout products are good examples of this,” says Steve Ball, commercial director, “Anti-Mould Grout is a tiling essential for kitchens, bathrooms and increasingly popular wetroom projects, where Colour-Lock on the other hand, meets the need for consumer experimentation and creativity.”
