Taylor Wimpey marks World Book Day with a donation to local schools in Hamilton

Earlier this year, major housebuilder Taylor Wimpey West Scotland marked World Book Day (2 March 2023) with a donation of £250 each for the school libraries at St Mark’s Primary and Woodhead Primary in Hamilton.

Celebrating 26 years, World Book Day aims to encourage children of all ages to enjoy and appreciate the pleasures of all types of books. Emma Cumming, principal teacher at St Mark’s Primary, said: “World Book Day is a fantastic initiative which focuses on encouraging children to develop their enjoyment of reading as well as their appreciation of books. Thanks to Taylor Wimpey’s donation, we can add lots of different styles of new books to our school library, and this means every child can enjoy them in their own way.”

Colette Watson, deputy head teacher at Woodhead Primary added: “We’re delighted to receive this donation from Taylor Wimpey. It will allow us to extend the choice of great books that we provide in our school library, where we know our children enjoy discovering new stories to read and enjoy.”
