Mohawk Industries has entered into an agreement to buy Elizabeth Revestimentos, based in Brazil. When combined with Eliane, which became part of Mohawk in 2018, the company will reportedly be the largest producer of ceramic coatings in revenue in Brazil.
Elizabeth produces porcelain tiles and ceramic tiles and markets mainly in retail, home centres and construction companies. The company was founded in 1984 and has four strategically located manufacturing units aimed to optimise distribution. Together with Eliane’s production capacity, Elizabeth’s manufacturing assets are projected to enhance the combined business’s product offering, operational efficiencies, and service capabilities.
The transaction, which follows Mohawk’s acquisition of Vitromex in June, is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023 and is subject to customary government approvals and closing conditions.
