As demand for large-format tiles continues to grow, achieving a perfectly level finish has become more important than ever. Mapei’s MapeLevel tile levelling system is designed to simplify the installation process, helping to maintain precise alignment. By minimising lippage and promoting consistent grout joints, the system helps installers to achieve a professional finish while improving efficiency on-site, the company says.
The MapeLevel series includes four systems: MapeLevel Easy, MapeLevel EasyClick, MapeLevel Easy T and MapeLevel ProWDG. Each system is said to be suitable for the installation of all types of floor and wall tiles and includes a spacer – available in a range of formats and thicknesses – and cap combination. Once the adhesive has cured, the caps can be easily removed with the tap of a mallet or boot, leaving the spacer clips below the tile surface.
The MapeLevel Easy System is a quick-thread screw levelling system that comprises an open-view reusable cap, screw spacers and an anti-scratch shield. Spacers are positioned between tiles and the caps are manually screwed into place, levelling the surface. Meanwhile, the MapeLevel EasyClick System includes an Easy Click cap with an integrated anti-scratch shield and spacers that fit between tiles. Caps are positioned over the spacer by pushing the side tabs and then screwed into place.
MapeLevel Easy T is a reusable levelling system that includes a levelling element and adjustment tool. Metal levelling spacers are inserted between tiles, screwed into place and easily unscrewed. This system is suitable for tiles up to 17mm thick and for joint widths from 1.5 to 6mm. It can also be used to make adjustments and in conjunction with other MapeLevel systems.
The fourth system, MapeLevel ProWDG, is a reusable wedge levelling system used with pliers. It includes wedges, coloured spacer clips and pushing pliers. Spacers are inserted between tiles and the pliers are then used to tighten the wedge in place above the tile.
