Mapei Academy, a training facility in the West Midlands, is a central hub for all Mapei-wide programmes of practical and theoretical training. The centre provides support for customers and construction professionals covering Mapei’s many product lines and specialisms.
Facilities at the academy include a 31-seater auditorium for presentations and demonstrations. A number of dedicated bays are available for a hands-on experience of Mapei wall and floor systems, including those used for installing ceramic and stone finishes, resilient and wood flooring, industrial flooring (resin, Ultratop and Ultratop Loft), structural waterproofing, swimming pool construction, concrete repair, EWI, render and coatings.
All training is provided free of charge and is hosted by experienced trainers and technical personnel from Mapei’s UK team. Courses for late Spring and early Summer and include:
- Ceramic Product Day: 7 August
- Ceramic – Waterproofing Systems – Bathrooms / Wetrooms : 10 July.
- Ceramic – Large Format Tile Installation: 11 September
- Subfloor Preparation for Resilient Flooring Course: 4 and 16 July; 8 and 20 August; 5 and 17 September.
- Industrial Flooring Course: 18 July; 13 September.
- Ultratop Loft Course: 19 July.
- External Wall Insulation Course: 23 July; 14 August; 24 September.
- Concrete Repair: 2 July; 27 August; 20 September
All training delegates receive presentation notes, refreshments, lunch, a factory tour (subject to availability) and a Mapei Academy “Goodie Pack”.
In addition to in-person training, Mapei Academy also offers a series of free online ‘bitesize’ courses through webinars, which can be accessed at https://www.mapei.com/gb/MapeiAcademy/training-calendar. RIBA CPD Network Providers and Construction CPD Certification accredited CPD’s are also available and offered free of charge.
