Cleaners & protectors for stone and ceramic tiles

LTP’s surface care range includes protection and maintenance solutions for all types of tile and stone. From deep cleaners and sealers to removers and restoration treatments, the British-made range is said to offer a safe solution for all installations, inside and outside.

Spring & summer deep cleaning
For floor and patio renovations – and for deep cleaning new tiles before sealing – the company offers LTP Grimex. A cleaner and stripper, Grimex is designed to remove oil, grease, ingrained dirt, grime and old layers of wax and it’s safe to use on all types of natural and engineered stone.

External pavers stained with slippery black spot, lichen, moss and algae will benefit from a targeted treatment with LTP Blackspot & Algae Remover. This treatment is designed to break down microspores and black spot “hyphae” before they colonise. It’s acid-free, so it is safe to use on acid-sensitive stone, as well as porcelain pavers.

Protecting newly laid and renovated tiles
For new installations and existing tiles that haven’t been protected, application of an impregnating sealer will provide multiple aesthetic and performance benefits, as well as aiding maintenance. New for 2025, LTP’s Paving & Masonry Sealer is formulated to protect surfaces from staining and repels water, oils and grease. The non-film forming, breathable treatment also helps reduce efflorescence.

Enhancing porcelain pavers
LTP has recently introduced its Porcelain Tile Enhancer. Water-based and PFAS-free, the treatment reportedly gives tiles a “just washed look” as well as providing resistance to foot traffic, general wear and stains, and promoting easier maintenance. It also provides UV-resistance and, whilst glossy in nature, is said to cause minimal change to a tile’s slip resistance properties.

“During the development of our new Porcelain Tile Enhancer, the biggest challenge was creating a treatment that stayed put. A lot of film-forming sealers that do form a bond don’t tend to wear well and, if they de-bond, they can be difficult to remove. We’ve monitored our application test site every month for the last two years; we’ve carried out scratch resistance, patch repair and freeze/thaw tests and the finish still looks the same! Independent slip tests have also shown an increase of just 9% which is, therefore, not significant,” explained LTP’s technical director, Mark Atkins.

Restoration treatments & trouble shooters
To restore the colour of faded black pavers, LTP Blackstone Sealer & Restorer provides a long-term solution, by protecting the surface and creating a permanent colour enhancement. Also a water-based treatment, this product contains a permanent colour intensifying pigment. It can be used on limestone, marble, slate and concrete pavers. To maintain a very dark, pristine finish, annual treatment is recommended, although a treated stone will maintain a far darker aesthetic than an untreated stone for around 4-5 years.

New treatments include LTP Grout Haze & Limescale Remover – a ready-to-use first wash spray for the safe removal of cement-based grout haze and limescale. This product can be used on all types of engineered tile and unpolished stone surfaces, without affecting the grout joint or tarnishing chrome and steel trims and fittings.

Aftercare for tiles and stone
For ongoing maintenance, LTP offers a variety of pH neutral cleaners for all tile types, including Multipurpose Cleaner and Stonewash – each in a no-rinse spray, Porcelain Floor Tile Cleaner and Waxwash. Other treatments include LTP Floorshine – which cleans and renovates dull tiles, wood and laminate surfaces – and treatments to deep clean and protect grout joints.
