Over the past few months, Stone Federation’s Women In Natural Stone Group has hosted events across the UK, bringing together women from the worlds of architecture, design, construction and natural stone.
These events were spearheaded by the organisation’s Women in Natural Stone Regional Ambassadors and were said to be about “bringing together women in these sectors in their parts of the UK”.
Starting with a WINS networking event at the Hillhead Quarrying Exhibition in Buxton, the WINS events included a Bath Stone Mine Tour, Workshop evening in London and will, in the coming months include a Wine Tasting Evening in Chelmsford and a Lunch and Learn in Manchester.
Feedback from the women who had attended these events has been encouraging, Stone Federation says. One attendee commented: “A huge thank you to the organisers for all the work you put into making WINS work so well. You have provided such an important space for women in the industry, and it keeps evolving into a fantastic network. Don’t know what I’d do without it.”
