On 12 January 2023, UltraTile welcomed 23 members of the Tilers Community and hosted its biggest training day ever.
Attendees began their External Tiling Academy Day by joining UltraTile’s Martin Pouncey for a morning of classroom learning. Pouncey, who has over 30 years of experience working in the tiling industry, took the tilers through the theory of external tiling whilst giving them some great tips on how to successfully install external porcelain tiles.
After a delicious lunch, everyone headed down to UltraTile’s bespoke training area for a practical demonstration of their external tiling system. During the 45-minute demonstration, everyone had the opportunity to get hands on experience and gain confidence fixing and grouting tiles externally.
Everyone then headed outside for a tile cutting demonstration from the team at RUBI UK and finished with a tour of UltraTile’s manufacturing facilities to see where its adhesives and grouts are produced.
There were prizes up for grabs throughout the day, with RP Tiling Services walking away with the top prize. No one left empty handed though, and everyone left the event with freebies from RUBI and an UltraTile goody bag.
The day was said to be a huge success, and UltraTile received some fantastic feedback from the tiling community.

“I found the theory really useful and then the practical demonstration to back it up has helped my confidence with outdoor tiling no end. Overall a fantastic day for me,” said Michael Moore.
On the success of the day, Lynne Flavell, campaign manager at UltraTile, commented: “We are really proud to support the tiling community and their career development.
