Training in the latest techniques is essential to keep up to date in any profession, and updated standards and changes in substrates and materials mean that the tiling industry is no exception.
Tilemaster Adhesives, part of the Kerakoll Group, has put together a schedule of free training days for both flooring and tiling designed to help installers learn the latest systems, using the company’s products in its training centre based in Bromsgrove.
The tiling training is a mixture of practical and theoretical training covering the British Standards, and hints, tips and takeaways on surface preparation and the use of adhesives and grouts, with an introduction to Kerakoll’s H40 gel adhesives and Fugabella Color and Fugalite Bio grout ranges. Courses are being held on 16 February, 20 April and 18 May, with more dates to follow.
The flooring training is also a mix of hands on practical and theoretical training. It covers correct practice for subfloor preparation including testing for and controlling moisture; using primers, repairing minor imperfections; selecting and applying smoothing compounds; and the use of adhesives. The first courses are being held on 2 February, 9 March and 4 May, with more dates to follow also.
The 2600sq ft Kerakoll Campus has been updated with a dedicated classroom for presentations about the theory behind the systems, as well as a practical area for demonstrations and hands on training for applications.
In addition to the scheduled programme, the company is offering clients who wish to train their staff the opportunity to arrange training on dates that suit them, including bespoke training on particular needs such as systems for projects they are working on. This free of charge service is part of the company’s policy of supporting its customers wherever possible, it says.
