Palace Chemicals offers “a full range of support”

Palace Chemicals offers a full range of support for the tiling industry, the company says, focused on providing its customers with end-to-end service. In the past year, the company has introduced its first RIBA-approved CPD, “Successful Specification of Wall and Floor Tiling and how to avoid Common Failures”. Developed for architects, specifiers and large contractors, the presentation provides important information in key areas.

Palace can also offer a free RIBA-approved M40 Specification writing service to assist architects and developers in the commercial and specification sectors, the company says, while its dedicated specification managers can visit on site to assist with specifications in person.

The manufacturer has a dedicated customer services team and its technical sales staff can provide support on any of its products, all of which are designed to meet customer requirements with many produced on the company’s newest and most modern production lines to ensure the highest product quality and also the ability to meet customer needs.

Palace says it’s keenly aware of its responsibility to provide information and education for the trade as a whole about important updates and regulatory changes which affect its customers and the application and use of its products. The company does this through direct communication with customers, by social media, training sessions, the use of key trade media and the pages of its redeveloped website.

For its customers in the commercial specification sector, the company is able to offer a dedicated resource via its national technical sales manager, Nick Bratt, appointed in 2024.

Specification is an area where the company already has a significant presence, but it believes that, due to the strength of the company’s product range and current market trends, it is well-poised to offer further support.

Bratt joined the company following a span of 30 years in the tiling industry, working closely with specification customers. He brings a wealth of experience, and the depth of his contacts within the tiling industry is said to be second to none. Bratt and the team are developing Palace’s support for the sector by means of continued interaction with architects and major contractors, as well as continuing to work through bodies such as NBS and Glenigan.

The latest example of the company’s commitment to the industry is the Palace Skills Hub. The company recognises the need in the industry for improved access to training. The courses available from the Skills Hub are designed to introduce technical aspects of tiling to a broader audience, including specifiers, retailers, distributors, tiling contractors and independent tile fixers. Courses offered in 2025 will include waterproofing, large format tiling and exterior tiling. These courses have been developed internally and also in partnership with a number of brands in the sector.

Interested individuals or groups who wish to book courses at the Skills Hub can express an interest on the recently-revamped Palace Chemicals website at https://palacechemicals.co.uk/skills-hub/.

As well as a new page featuring information about the training courses, the website has been redesigned for simpler navigation through the company’s range of products and services. The website features the company’s complete tiling and levelling product ranges, as well as the range of DIY and building products, technical information and several other tools for the industry.

Palace is also “in the driving seat” when it comes to technical expertise and knowledge regarding the regulations affecting tiling, the company says.

“We recognise that education and training are as important for our own internal audience, as they are for customers and the wider industry. With a history of 46 years in business, Palace has accumulated one of the best knowledge banks on tiling techniques and methods that is to be found anywhere and we are looking forward to continuing to impart this knowledge to the sectors we operate in throughout the coming new year. We are also positioned to offer our customers the most comprehensive service we can and to support their growth in 2025,” says Steve Ball, commercial director.
