Mapei has introduced a new adhesive to its Keraquick series.
Keraquick S2 is described by the company as a high performance, deformable cementitious adhesive developed for the installation of ceramic, porcelain, moisture-stable natural stone and mosaic wall and floor tiles, internally and externally. The quick-setting formulation is reportedly suitable for heavily trafficked areas where a fast turn-around is essential. Floor and wall tiles can be grouted after two hours, and floors subjected to light foot traffic can be returned to full use after 24 hours. The adhesive is also said to feature a very low VOC EMICODE: EC1 Plus certified formulation, for a safe installation.
The product can be used to install tiles onto cement-based and suitably prepared calcium sulphate-based screeds, concrete, existing unglazed ceramic floor tiles, cement-based renders, gypsum plaster, plasterboard and tile backer boards. It can be applied to a maximum bed depth of 10mm and can be used alongside underfloor heating. The adhesive is also suitable for the installation of insulating materials, says Mapei, including expanded and extruded polystyrene panels, gypsum boards, glass and rockwool, Eraclit, aerated concrete blocks and sound deadening panels.
The series is offered alongside a range of complementary products, with advice on-hand from Mapei’s technical team.
