Italcer, an Italian manufacturing group of floor and wall tiles, has begun the acquisition process of Terratinta Group, a company specialized in high-end furnishing surfaces based in Fiorano Modenese. In a LinkedIn post, Italcer said the acquisition confirmed the group’s desire to “create a high-end Italian hub of surfaces based on innovation, design, attention to the environment and the people who work in it”.
Terratinta is a B Corp certified tiling manufacturer which encompasses four brands: Terratinta Ceramiche, Ceramica Magica, Sartoria and Micro. Its products are widely used in restaurants, hotels and private residences. They are sold in 50 countries and the company boasts a turnover of 30 million euros, 90% of which is derived from exports.
According to the terms of the agreement, Terratinta CEO and shareholder Luca Migliorini (who will remain the general manager of the company, according to Italcer) will reinvest roughly 50% of the proceeds of the sale into Italcer shares, becoming a shareholder alongside the group’s CEO and founder Graziano Verdi.
The group says this acquisition will help to consolidate its leadership in the market, with a turnover projection for 2023 approaching 400 million euros, more than 1,100 employees and 15 thousand customers worldwide.
Terratinta will mark the 8th acquisition carried out by Italcer over the past six years as a portfolio company of Miura Partners and Mindful Capital Partners. This agreement follows the company’s acquisitions of La Fabbrica, Elios, Devon & Devon, Rondine, Cedir, Equipe Ceramicas, as well as Fondovalle, which was agreed in October of 2022.
