Envelope completion for Kerakoll UK’s new plant

KERAKOLL UK Ltd and Barnfield Construction Ltd are proud to announce that Barnfield Construction has finished the installation of windows, doors, wall cladding, and solar panels for Kerakoll UK Ltd’s new plant in Preston, says the company.

Phase 1 of this landmark project includes a state-of-the-art distribution centre, research and development centre and training campus, allowing us to showcase Kerakoll products and systems, says the company.

The new facility is said to represent a significant investment in the region and will support Kerakoll’s continued expansion across the UK and Northern Europe. Building completion and handover is programmed for November 2026.

The site is being constructed to BREEAM standards with a predicted score of very good, with 2360sq m of photovoltaic panels installed on the roof, generating an estimated 340 MWh per year, and saving 65 tons per year in CO2 emissions.

The building has also been developed to allow rainwater harvesting with a capacity of 30,000cu m, serving the toilets in the main offices, giving an estimated water saving of 3000 l/day, says the company.
