Wetroom Market Comment – Neolith

Ross Stewart, senior sales manager for Neolith, discusses the growing wetroom market and explains some of the factors behind its explosive rise.

The wetroom market has seen significant developments in recent years, thanks to wetrooms being a great option for bathrooms in need of accessible elements, paired with their sleek and uniform look.

Sales of shower floors, shower trays and wall cladding at the premium end of the market are increasing thanks to the introduction of designs made from premium materials that offer a seamless look. Consumers in the mid – premium market want to create a cohesive space, and so matching their floor to the rest of the bathroom is something we’re seeing more of. Thanks to a bigger range of finishes now becoming available in larger slab sizes, designers have even more options to create a beautiful bathroom space that is easy to clean and preserves the look thanks to less joins and seams than you would get with smaller floor tiling.

When it comes to wetroom design, meticulous planning is paramount. For example, with typically one surface covering the entire space, layout and safety need to be considered. Sintered stone can be installed on floors with a non-slip finish to create a wet room area which minimises trip and slip hazards.
