Sigma’s Fixer Focus

When it comes to turning a house into a home, few spaces hold as much potential for transformation as the bathroom. HQ Tiling Ltd, based in the vibrant heart of Telford, Shropshire UK, has been in the business of turning bathroom dreams into reality for years. Its latest project, undertaken for a private residential customer, showcases not only incredible craftsmanship, but also the indispensable role played by Sigma tools, specialist adhesives, and grouts.

The team faced a unique challenge with this project – the complete renovation of three bathrooms, all specified in Porcelanosa XTone Calacatta Gold large format tiles measuring a whopping 2500x1200cm and just 6mm thick. Each room presented its own set of hurdles, demanding custom-made solutions that only a team of experts could provide.

The team at HQ Tiling Ltd specialises in large format tiles and, notably, has always relied on Sigma products for its projects. When it came to cutting, shaping, and installing these expansive tiles, Sigma’s tools proved to be indispensable. Their precision and efficiency allowed the team to work swiftly without the risk of potential damage – a critical factor when dealing with such delicate materials. The Sigma Kera-Lift frames for handling along with the Sigma Kera- Cut manual tile cutter were an integral part of the project.

One of the standout features of HQ Tiling’s work is its ability to overcome obstacles that would deter many. In these projects, challenges ranged from intricate cuts around plumbing fixtures to ensuring the tiles fit perfectly within the designated spaces. The team also had to install a custom-made shower tray with restricted depth after the old one was removed. Simply building up the existing floor to bring it level was not an option as this would have created a trip hazard between the en-suite bathroom and the bedroom.

So, HQ Tiling created a return on the face of the shower tray using one piece of tile and matching the veins to run alongside the other. With Sigma tools in hand, the team tackled these challenges head-on, turning potential stumbling blocks into stepping stones towards excellence. Other materials used on this project were Butech S2 adhesive, Butech Blanco grout, TENAX resin and Butech waterproofing kits.

The results of HQ’s Tiling dedication and skill are nothing short of breathtaking. The finished bathrooms exude a level of sophistication and luxury that could grace the pages of any design magazine. Each large format tile is perfectly placed, creating a seamless, modern look that transforms these spaces into sanctuaries of relaxation and beauty. It’s no surprise then that Sigma tools have a loyal following of users worldwide who consistently produce work of this calibre.

HQ’s Tiling’s commitment to quality and Sigma’s precision tools have once again proven that when you combine craftsmanship with the right equipment, the result is nothing short of spectacular. HQ Tiling’s remarkable bathroom transformations, achieved through a combination of skill, determination, and the power of Sigma tools, serve as a testament to the art of tiling and the potential of any space, no matter the size or challenge. Their latest project truly brings new meaning to the phrase “Telford’s Finest.”
