TTA Awards supports Children Today once again

TTA is supporting its chosen charity, Children Today, this year, both at the TTA Awards and at the Tiling Show.

Lexi Heselwood from Children Today said: “Tom Cat are bringing a trike with them for the day to have at our stall which is brilliant news. It will be static and we will be challenging people to see how many calories they can burn off in two minutes. We will have a leader board and a prize for the most calories burned! We will also have general information about the charity and will hopefully get people to sign up to our Lottery.”

Throughout this month, Children Today is inviting members of the Tile Association to join them in taking part in its ‘Wheely Great Challenge’. The charity is encouraging supporters to take on their very own ‘10 for 10’ challenge with the aim of raising £10,000 in total. It could be a 10K run or cycle, 10 laps of the local park or hosting 10 coffee and cake mornings! If companies can join in, TTA has an M&S Mayfair hamper and two bottles of fizz.

During the awards evening itself, there will be opportunities to donate using envelopes that will be placed on the tables. It will be possible to donate via text and a Just Giving page. There will also be a social media competition for a bottle of champagne, which will be presented for the most posts throughout the evening tagging TTA and Children Today.

Last year, Children Today provided 60 pieces of adapted equipment and support hundreds more families with its pathways services, thanks to the generous donations from its members.

Maija – whom her parents describe as “an eternally happy little camper” – has cerebral palsy, triple X syndrome and global developmental delay, which affects her mobility. Children Today provided her with a ‘Race-Runner’ so she can get daily exercise.

Meanwhile, Harry, who has DiGeorge Syndrome, is enjoying spending more time with his family since receiving his adapted buggy. His mum Dani said: “Children Today’s help was invaluable for us as a family to gain independence and more freedom!”

With your support, these young people and many others have realised their dreams, so thank you.
The Children Today team looks forward to seeing you at TTA Awards and the Tiling Show 2022!
