Original Style announces the acquisition of South-west’s County Tile Warehouse

Original Style, the leading British tile manufacturer, distributor and retailer, has completed the purchase of County Tile Warehouse Ltd (CTW).  With three stores in Salisbury, Andover and Marlborough, CTW is an excellent fit for Original Style’s growing estate of tile showrooms across the South West.

CTW started trading in 1991 and has built up an excellent reputation with both trade and end customers in all three locations.  For the time being, Original Style intends to continue to operate the three sites as CTW.  Original Style already knew the staff at CTW and, recognised their skills and experience, will be retaining the complete CTW team.  CTW have always had a strong presence with the traders, tilers, developers and bathroom and kitchen showrooms.  Original Style have ambitious plans for growth of CTW, and will invest in showroom design, displays and updating IT systems.

“The decision to proceed with the acquisition was largely based on years of successful co-operation between Original Style and CTW,” says Chris Sowden, Managing Director at Original Style.  “CTW developed and grew their business alongside us and have proved to be an excellent partner dealer promoting Original Style products and offering unrivalled customer service.  This close working relationship resulted in Original Style buying the company from its owners and founders, who have now decided to retire.”

CTW shareholders, Peter and Kathryn Farrar, and Robin and Amanda Ives, have been looking to reduce their involvement whilst still giving a long-term future for both their staff and the company. Peter and Robin will continue to work with Original Style on a consultancy basis for the rest of this year.

“We value high-quality working relationships with our existing dealer network and many have been with us for over 25 years and remain the backbone of our sales channel. Creating and maintaining long-term partnerships with our retailers remains a crucial part of our business,” concludes Sowden.
