The first line of defence – LTP’s Porcelain Tile Protector – is a water-based treatment developed for unpolished tiles. Applied before grouting, the protector creates a barrier, without forming a film or altering tile appearance, and offers a number of benefits: it helps prevent grout and resins from taking hold; makes residue removal easier and improves/increases grout working times.
Two coats are recommended, with 30 minutes drying between applications, and tiles are ready to grout after one hour. Once joints are dry and all residues have been removed, a further coat can be applied to make ongoing maintenance easier.
For deep cleaning, the range includes LTP Solvex and Grimex. LTP Solvex is ideal for the safe removal of grout haze and residue left by brush-in jointing compounds, which are increasingly popular in outdoor installations. Applied undiluted with a cloth or brush, Solvex acts in 30 minutes and is then washed off with a dilute solution of LTP Grimex. Other intensive cleaners include LTP Black Spot & Algae Remover, which targets organic residue and stains caused by damp and slippery leaf matter.
Other treatments include LTP’s Porcelain Tile Cleaner, along with three stain removers: LTP Grout Stain Remover, LTP Cement, Grout & Salt Residue Remover and LTP Rust Stain Remover.
