Tile Giant has acquired nine of the Tile Choice stores, as well as the tilechoice.co.uk and crowntiles.co.uk websites. The nine stores, which include locations in Coventry, Derby, Bilston, Wallsall, Birmingham, Cannock, Burton on Trent, Kidderminster and Worcester, will reopen and start trading to both retail and trade customers with immediate effect. The acquisition will reportedly see over 40 jobs created across the Tile Choice estate and warehouse.
This news follows Tile Choice’s announcement in early January that it would cease trading with immediate effect. The company posted a Notice of Intention to appoint administrators in the second week of January. According to regional news organisation TheBusinessDesk.com: “Accounts also revealed a dip in profits from £910k to £546k, due to the closure of an underperforming store and a fall from the highs of the previous year under lockdown. Online business had also reduced as stores were open for a full year.”
