Solus has sponsored this year’s Birmingham Walkathon, which took place on the 11th of September. Back after a 9-year hiatus, the event is led by Help Harry Help Others (HHHO), a charity started by Harry Moseley from Sheldon.
Harry passed away, aged 11, after being diagnosed with a brain tumour, but not before raising thousands of pounds for Cancer Research UK. His story continues to inspire the people of Birmingham and his mum, Georgie, has successfully campaigned for the relaunch of the Walkathon.
Open to anyone, participants of this year’s Walkathon chose to complete either a lap of a participating park or the full 26-mile circuit along the old no.11 bus route.
Funds are being raised for five charities which will be disbursed by HHHO. Those charities are HHHO, NSPCC Birmingham, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid, and Birmingham Mind.
Solus managing director, Ryan Bennett, says, “As a Midlands company, we’re delighted to support this fantastic event.
“We are pleased to be raising money for charities that benefit the community we’re proud to call home. We hope you feel the same way.”
