Graziano Verdi, the current vice president of Confindustria Ceramica and CEO of Italcer, has been named the new president of the European Ceramic Federation (CET). The industry veteran will lead the Federation until 2027.
The election was announced in Brussels, during the “European Ceramic Days 2024″ event (which took place from December 2-4). The event reportedly saw hundreds of industry professionals, technicians, commissioners and MEPs attend.
Verdi commented: “It is with great honor and responsibility that I take on the role of president of the European Ceramic Federation. I would like to thank everyone for the trust placed in me and for the commitment each of you shows every day in promoting our industry. Together, we will continue to support innovation and sustainability in a realistic way and drive the growth of the ceramic sector in Europe. I am convinced that, by working together with determination and passion, we will achieve even more ambitious goals, strengthening our role.”
Verdi was previously the long-time CEO and president of the Iris-Graniti Fiandre group. He then led Technogym and the Belgian multinational Koramic.
In 2017, together with Alberto Forchielli of the fund Mindful Capital Partners, he founded Italcer Group, now said to be the fifth-largest Italian industrial group in the high-end ceramic sector.
