Anatolia, a Canadian-based international company specialising in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of sintered stone slabs, tiles, and natural stone products, has announced the opening of a new manufacturing facility. The two million sqft plant is said to represent “a bold leap forward in surface manufacturing,” the manufacturer says. Located in Izmir, Turkiye, the facility combines cutting-edge technology with a deep commitment to sustainability, Anatolia says, redefining the way we think of surfaces.
After 25 years of industry experience, Anatolia embarked on what the company calls an ambitious journey to revolutionise the manufacturing processes. The result is a facility said to be designed with innovation and sustainability at its core. From the solar panels spanning over two million sqft, which reportedly cut carbon emissions by 19,000 tons annually to its closed-loop water recycling system and 2,200-ton rainwater cistern. According to the company, every aspect of the facility reflects a dedication to environmental stewardship while showcasing the latest in technology and automation.
“We are very excited to reveal the inner workings of our manufacturing facility with the goal of not only advancing the future of surface design but redefining it. This milestone is a testament to our unwavering commitment to innovation and sustainability. At Anatolia, every step we take in manufacturing reflects our dedication to excellence and environmental stewardship,” said Cengiz Elmaagacli, co-CEO of Anatolia.
The facility features an automated raw material receiving system, integrated with bar codes and enterprise resource planning (ERP) based on Industry 4.0 principles. Raw materials travel along a 2km conveyor belt to be stored in an enclosed raw material storage system. An advanced dry coloring system creates a limitless array of visual, surface, and textural designs. The Continua+ press line allows for the extruding of raw materials without traditional molds for design flexibility, while digital printing technology offers customisation and precision, reportedly capturing “every detail” of the natural stone through patented photography methods.
The company concludes: “With precise measurement adjustments and refined surface finishes, we are setting new benchmarks in the industry. Anatolia’s facility is not just a production plant but a testament to our vision for the future. We are working towards LEED certification and continually advancing our practices to push the boundaries of design and craftsmanship.”
