LVT fitting courses at MN Floor Training

MN Floor Training specialises in subfloor preparation & luxury vinyl tile (LVT) floor fitting courses. The company’s fast track courses, based in Wolverhampton, take place over three days and are limited to 6 fitters, with the aim of ensuring the highest quality of training. All courses are run by Paddy from McNicholas flooring, described as one of the country’s leading LVT design floor specialists.

The LVT Fitting Course is designed for tilers both new to the trade and more experienced fitters who want to improve. Within the three-day course, participants will learn about subfloor preparation, moisture testing, damp-proof membranes, moisture vapour, primers, smoothing compounds, adhesives and ply boarding.

The course will also cover LVT fitting patterns, including straight, on the 45° (with & without a border) as well as herringbone, including numerous scribing techniques specific to the herringbone pattern. Additionally, the instructors will provide setting out guidance, guillotine demonstrations as well as advice for scribing, bevelling and other LVT fitting techniques.

The LVT Design Floor Course is designed for more experienced fitters, as there are many complicated aspects to the programme. It covers cutting and fitting parquetry panels, bespoke 3D and geometric design floors and border design, as well as motifs. Like the LVT Fitting Course, this course includes guillotine demonstrations and techniques for scribing, bevelling and other LVT fitting methods.
