Larsen goes “full fibre!”

Larsen has announced some developments its leading tile adhesive offer. The company has reportedly seen exceptional growth over the years and has now taken the step to introduce Fiberflex microfibre technology to its whole range of tile adhesives. It says it’s leading the way in fibre technology and aims to become the first to offer a fully reinforced portfolio of product.

Paul Luff, national sales and marketing manager, says: “It’s all about service and products, the last few years have been really testing for one reason and another and adhesives is a very competitive marketplace, but we continue to see sales and accounts grow alongside a very loyal customer base which we are extremely grateful for as this is the key to success. Excellent retention, quality products, new lines and genuine customer care has seen our growth outperform the marketplace.”

The Trade and Professional ranges are now instantly recognisable as a Larsen Brand and the company has also taken the opportunity to refresh all its packaging at the same time as introducing the new UKCA marks. The updated designs clearly state the key facts and features of each product. Fiberflex microfibre technology is clearly shown in the top corner and every bag features clear icons, powder colour panels and QR codes taking you straight to the product’s data sheet, the company says.

The Professional range is designed to be comprehensive, with the professional tiler very much in mind, focusing on key performance classifications like EN12004 S1 and S2. The trade merchant range is compact and focused on the trade warehouse and builders merchant sector, designed to combine performance and versatility with a competitive edge.

Larsen has also committed to substantial investment for the future, modernising its packaging while focusing on the needs of the tiling sector. Leading the way on fibre technology will certainly make Larsen stand out from its competition, the company says.

It continues: “Larsen Building Products, as part of the Larsen group of companies, has been manufacturing quality products since establishment in 1975. Larsen has now grown to become a market-leading manufacturer of a comprehensive range of products for the construction and civil engineering industries. Our purpose-built computer-controlled manufacturing facility is situated in the port of Belfast and has a production capacity of over 2,000 bags of product per hour.”

The first two lines planned to launch with this update are in fact two new additions as well. Following on from the growth in slow setting adhesives and a stronger demand for the grey options, Larsen has added to both the Professional and Trade C2 TE lines, they will now be available in Grey alongside the existing white option. This means the entire Professional range will not just be fibre-reinforced but also available in both Grey and White. Alongside these adhesives, the company also offers the “exceptional” Colourfast 360 Grout, which it says has proven to be a real success story.

The company is now producing record volumes of grout from its entire 47+ years of manufacturing. Colourfast 360 grout is a specially formulated, flexible, rapid setting tile grout. This formulation uses Colourfast technology to ensure uniform joint colour and avoid efflorescence. The fine texture reportedly provides a smooth, stain, mould, and water resistant finish that is suitable for use on most tile types including glazed and unglazed ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, and glass tiles.
All colours come with a matching high grade neutral cure silicone. When it comes to subfloor preparation, Larsen says it “certainly ticks the box, with probably the original, and still market leading, levelling compound SLC1550 Flex”. This fibre reinforced Leveller can be applied up to 50mm in one pour and is suitable for UFH systems.
