Tool manufacturer Brevetti Montolit has launched Atlas, a product designed to help with the issue of supporting large format tiles while using a manual tile cutter.
The product is designed to support large format tiles when cutting on any manual tile cutter, and is said to be especially useful when trying to cut small or medium side pieces and the support arms are too short to support the tile properly. The tile must always be flat to get the correct cut and avoid breakages or damage to the tile.
Up until now, tile installers have had to use tiles or even plastic bottles to support the large format tile as they make the end cut. Montolit says this innovative support tool now solves this issue.
Atlas can reportedly be adjusted to any size tile. The product is said to be extremely strong, being made with ABS plastic, and can support any size and weight of tile due to its spring loading mechanism and adjustable height position.
Another benefit is that it can work with any tile cutter, Montolit says. It also has an anti-slip surface, so that the tile is completely secure when in the correct cutting position.
Montolit owner and CEO Vincenzo Montoli said: “This product is another fantastic innovation from Montolit. Tile installers told us they had issues with this cut especially on large format tiles, and we responded by producing a solution”.
