WESTWOODS Tiling has recently completed a striking 37sq m domestic kitchen and dining area installation using a full suite of UltraTile products. The project featured beautiful hand-made terracotta tiles laid in an intricate herringbone pattern, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern installation materials for a flawless finish, says UltraTile.
The installation process involved self-levelling over a combination of bitumen and concrete subfloors, followed by the application of decoupling matting to ensure long-term stability. UltraTile’s ProLevel Ultimate floor leveller was used to create a perfectly even surface, while ProPrimer ensured excellent adhesion between layers.
The tiles were fixed using UltraTile ProGrip FX flexible tile adhesive, and the joints finished with ProGrout Flexible, providing both durability and a smooth, professional appearance.
The hand-made terracotta tiles were carefully sealed and grouted, enhancing their natural beauty and ensuring the surface remains easy to maintain.
Speaking about the project, David Westwood of Westwoods Tiling shared: “ProLevel Ultimate is one of the best levellers over bitumen floors. It was my first time using the semi-rapid adhesive, and it was really nice to work with. The grout is super smooth, and the sealer was great to use too.”
Products used:
ProLevel Ultimate – Superior flow, high performance smoothing underlayment
