UltraTile, a manufacturer of premium tile adhesives and grouts, has recently introduced its ProEco Gel tile adhesive, which has already been successfully utilised in the renovation of Kenny’s convenience store located in Coleraine, Northern Ireland.
Formerly a Lidl store, the building has reportedly been completely overhauled to align with Kenny’s brand and customer experience standards.
The project was not without its complexities. One of the most critical challenges was the need to minimise disruption as the store remained open throughout the entire renovation process. To support SMC Tiling Contractor with the installation, UltraTile’s technical site support training manager, Fred Whitehouse, visited site to assist with specification and product selection.
SMC Tiling Contractor turned to UltraTile’s ProEco Gel tile adhesive to fix all wall and floor tiles in this project.
UltraTile ProEco Gel is said to be an “innovative and eco-conscious adhesive that combines top performance with environmental responsibility”. The adhesive boasts a thixotropic formulation for easy application and control.
The adhesive’s flexibility is described as its standout feature, enabling it to withstand slight movement or vibration without compromising its strong bond. It features extended workability and enhanced adhesion, and the product also incorporates an impressive 20% recycled material, UltraTile says.
On this project, SMC Tiling Contractor not only achieved a “flawless, long-lasting tile installation,” says UltraTile, but also demonstrated its commitment to using environmentally conscious products.
On the performance of ProEco Gel, Steven Mcconachie, owner of SMC Tiling Contractor, said: “ProEco Gel is good, very good. Great for working with larger tiles.”
