Mapei gets creative at exclusive Natural Angle showroom in Hove

Natural Angle recently opened its new showroom in Hove, having completed a comprehensive renovation of the former bank premises using a range of Mapei systems.

The project, led by the firm’s founder, Reis Emre, retained many of the building’s original features. They included a basement bank vault which has been transformed into tile, wood flooring, kitchen and bathroom displays.

New features were also created, including a patterned feature ceiling using Mapei Ultralite S1 adhesive.

The new South Coast showroom joins Natural Angle’s established distribution centre, based in Mid Sussex. Seeing an opportunity to open a store “in an untapped area”, owner Reis Emre acquired the former bank in the town’s principal commercial thoroughfare. A double fronted red-brick building, the property dates back to 1930 and provides over 140 square metres of retail space over two floors.
All Mapei products were supplied by Stone Republic who worked with Natural Angle to create the new showroom interior. Inside the showroom, Ultralite S1 wall and floor tile adhesive was used to install all stone and porcelain tiles, as well as to create the patterned ceiling.

Other products used internally included Ultrabond Eco S995 1K for the wood displays, as well as Mapei Dursilite highly durable water-based paint, Mapesil AC pure silicone sealant and Ultracolor Plus Coloured Grout. Externally, the Mapei specification included Mapetherm AR1 GG mortar; Mapetherm Net Alkali-resistant glass fibre mesh; Silancolor Tonachino water-repellent siloxane coating; Silancolor Base Coat and Mapewall GRP general purpose render.
