W.B. Simpson & Sons reflects on success at TTA Awards

W.B. Simpson & Sons scored two successes at this year’s TTA Awards night.

“The TTA Awards are the most prestigious accolades achievable in the tiling industry, so I’m delighted that we have received good recognition once again,” said managing director Anthony Parrott. “I would like to add my congratulations to Alfie and all those involved in the amazing Three Snow Hill project.”

Alfie Hill won Trainee Tile Fixer of the Year as well as a special prize donated by Pro Tiler Tools. Hill joined the company in 2020 as an apprentice tiler, where he quickly showed himself to be a keen and adaptable learner. The company has been confident enough in his ability to use Hill on some of its most prestigious current projects, it says. He has an excellent attitude to work, colleagues and clients, and shows natural ability, W.B. Simpson says. The company is confident that he will develop into a highly skilled tiler, and Hill is now also going to represent the industry at SkillBuild this year.

Meanwhile, the company also won a Highly Commended award in the Best Commercial Project – Large category for Three Snow Hill. This is a modern, 17 storey 38,000sqm office building. Works to Cat A base build, landlord fit-out and major Cat B fit-out for BT Regional Hub were completed respectively by BAM Construction, ADT Workplace and Overbury.

Previously involved in the One and Two Snow Hill projects, WB Simpson says it was proud to have carried out tiling works on this prestigious development, completed to the satisfaction of both contractor and client.
