Monumental Tiles recently sponsored Hitchin Rugby Club U18 Girls for their tour to Spain. Players from Hitchin and the surrounding area travelled to Valencia for a match against a Turia Valencia team made up of girls drawn from around the region. Turia, coached by former Spanish captain Ana Aigneren and including several U18 Spanish internationals twice took the lead but Hitchin, in their Monumental tour kit, came away with a well-earned 14-12 victory in the sun followed by plenty of photos, great food and the occasional fruit-based drink.
John Chaplin, who organised the tour for Hitchin said: “Sponsorship helps make tours possible. Girls rugby is growing rapidly and we were really excited to be able to send a team for their first international fixture and to create some life long memories. Thanks Monumental!”
