Tile Mountain look back on 2025

What have been the most significant developments in the industry in 2025?
‘2025 has been a year of consolidation and cautious optimism for the tile and stone sector. Market conditions have remained challenging, with consumer budgets under pressure. Despite that, demand for home improvement hasn’t disappeared it’s just become more considered. Here at the Tile Mountain Group, we’ve focused on supporting customers with value, design inspiration, and availability across both tiles and bathrooms, helping them achieve great results whatever their budget.’

Are there any projects that you’ve been happy to have been a part of in 2025?
‘One of the biggest highlights has been expanding our national showroom network to 15, with new locations in Cardiff, Cheltenham, Orpington, Hull, and Southampton – each designed to make choosing tiles as enjoyable and inspiring as possible. Another major milestone was the acquisition of the former Johnson Tiles site in Stoke-on-Trent, which will further strengthen our operational capacity and long-term growth plans. It’s also been rewarding to see Tile Mountain products featured across leading interiors titles – a reflection of our continued investment in design, innovation, and the customer experience.’

What has been the biggest challenge for the tiling industry in 2025?
‘It’s been a tough environment, with reduced spending and rising operational costs adding pressure. Consumers are still investing in their homes, but they’re shopping more carefully and expecting greater value from every purchase. For us, that’s reinforced the importance of keeping things simple, offering reliable stock, competitive pricing, and a seamless experience online and in-store. Our bathroom category has also been a consistent bright spot, showing that homeowners remain motivated to refresh key spaces even in tighter times.’

What have been the biggest product trends of the year?
‘Natural textures have really led the way in 2025. Coloured marble looks, particularly soft greens, warm browns, and subtle blues have remained popular, bringing depth and individuality to bathrooms and kitchens. Wood-effect porcelain has also continued to perform strongly, offering warmth and practicality across walls and floors. Alongside these, we’ve seen a continuing growing demand for large-format stone-effect tiles that create a seamless, contemporary feel. It’s clear that homeowners are prioritising timeless materials and finishes that add character without overpowering a space.’

What plans do you have for 2026?

‘2026 will be about building on the strong foundations we’ve set this year. We’re investing further in our showroom network and online experience, while expanding our product portfolio with fresh finishes and formats inspired by upcoming design trends. We’re also committed to enhancing every step of the customer journey, ensuring Tile Mountain continues to set the standard for choice, service, and style.’
