Grouts for all designs, scenarios and budgets

Regardless of project design, tile-type or budget, BAL offers a grouting solution with its streamlined portfolio.

BAL Grout Flex is a highly flexible grout with high strength, the company says. It comes in five key colourways with a reliable finish. The grout is offered in narrow or wide joint versions – Grout Flex and Grout Flex Wide Joint – for use from 2-5mm and 3mm to 20mm joints. Easy to apply and mix up with colour consistency whatever the size of mix, it provides a smooth finish.

BAL Grout Flex is available in 5kg and 10kg bags in White, Jasmine, Light Grey, Mid Grey and Dark Grey – with colour consistency in both narrow and wide joint versions.

With more than two hours’ pot life, BAL says its Grout Flex gives fixers more time to grout up without worrying the grout will go off in the bucket – even in hotter conditions – enabling larger areas to be grouted with one mix. Its 24-hour set time offers longer time to wash off. Suitable for internal or external use, the product can also be used in swimming pools and power showers.

The company also offers BAL Micromax2, which is supplied at 2.5kg, 5kg and 10kg pack sizes and provides what the company says is a perfect smooth finish on walls and floors in more than 35 colourways. Able to provide a crack-free and efflorescence-free finish, the product is said to also be mould and mildew resistant with Microban anti-microbial protection.

Microban antimicrobial product protection is a built-in active ingredient designed to help products resist the growth of microbes, helping them stay cleaner, fresher, and last longer than products with untreated surfaces.

Micromax2 2.5kg and 5kg now come in updated packaging, following a major investment into the company’s manufacturing facilities in Stoke-on-Trent. The additional machinery is allowing the company to move away from its current polybag packaging to high-impact retail-friendly bags.
For Micromax2, the packaging’s design and style have been updated with clear colour identity, as well as a see-through circular design to show the actual grout colour in the bag.

The most notable design change, the see-through circular design showing the actual grout colour, also highlights BAL Micromax2 “locked-in colour” technology. The bags show the grout powder from bottom to top highlighting how the grout has colour pigments throughout, rather than separated to the base mix. This means there is no need to mix the full bag to get the grout colour, helping avoid wasted product and the associated cost.

The company has also introduced BAL Terrace Grout. Part of its external tiling range of fixing products, this product is designed to withstand the demands of outdoor areas including water and freeze/thaw damage. Polymer-modified, the cement-based grout is suitable for natural stone or porcelain pavers or tiles in external areas.

Coming in four colours – Beige, Dark Grey, Light Grey and Charcoal – it reportedly offers high bond strength and flexibility. It can be used for joint widths up to 15mm.

The product also provides a smooth, hard-wearing surface, BAL says, and is easy to mix quickly on site with only water. Available in 10kg bags, coverage is approximately 0.5kg/m2 at 5mm joint widths. It offers a 45 minute pot life and cures in 24 hours.
