The big build-up to our annual TTA Awards night starts now! The Awards event, which will hopefully be a ‘live event this year, is due to take place on 10th September at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole: the venue which worked so well for TTA in 2019.
For this year, there will be additional space and new attractions, so the Awards look set to be the best ever. For sure everybody is going to be ready for a good celebration by then!
But there’s a long time to go until we get to the Award presentations – the first thing is that you need to get your entries in! Please have a good think about whether you can enter this year. Maybe it’s a personal achievement, like Fixer of the Year or Employee of the Year. Or a superb new product which you could enter in Wall Tile of the Year, Floor Tile of the Year, or Best Innovation.
Perhaps there is a job that you or your company are particularly proud of that could be entered into one of our project categories.
Or maybe your company has worked hard over the past year and can enter one of our corporate categories, such as Excellence in Marketing, or Excellence in Retail.
Whatever your achievement, there is an Award category made for you! For the full list of categories, and also the online entry form, please visit the Awards website at www.ttaawards.com.
If you require any assistance compiling your entry or if anything is unclear, we are here to help, so please give us a call.
We are delighted that these Awards already have an impressive number of Gold sponsors, to whom TTA is very grateful. They are: Banks & Lloyd, JACKOBOARD, Mapei, Norcros Adhesives, Palace Chemicals, PCS, Shackerley (Holdings) Group Ltd., UltraTileFix, and Verona.
These brands recognise that by sponsoring the Awards, they are not only benefitting from the hottest sponsorship property our industry has to offer, but they are also supporting excellence and achievement in the tiling sector. If you wish to join them, TTA would be delighted to hear from you!
The Awards are free to enter and the rewards for winning are considerable for your business, including the right to use your win or the fact that you were shortlisted for an Award in your own marketing activities. Winning a TTA Award is highly prestigious and carries considerable kudos, as any previous winner will be able to tell you.
Keep an eye on the Awards website for further information, including confirmation of the judging panel and other critical dates that you need to know, but for now we look forward to receiving your entries any time.
As in previous years, the TTA Awards will raise money for our nominated charity Children Today and will also take place on the same day as the TTA Annual Golf Day and The Tiling Show, which will be held in an adjoining suite of the Hilton Birmingham Metropole. More detail on these events to follow in due course.
TTA aims to enable members to make a success out of Brexit
At the time of writing it is still not known whether the UK is leaving the EU with or without a deal.
However the Brexit transition period has come to an end, and one thing that is for sure is that TTA will continue to support its members, by providing the information they need to avoid any negative impact of Brexit and hopefully take advantage of the new opportunities which become available. The changes now coming into effect will have an impact on many businesses, and TTA is committed to keep its members up to speed on all the key developments.
We will provide the latest information on Brexit in our regular communications and on the dedicated Brexit page which can be accessed from the Members Area of the TTA website. This information is sourced direct from the Government and from leading industry organisations, including Build UK, the Construction Products Association and the Construction Leadership Council.
TTA will also continue to work hard, as it has since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, to support its members, with the latest guidance on safe working practices and regulations. We also aim to provide relevant and accurate information on the latest financial support packages, as they are launched. It is hoped that this information has enabled TTA members to benefit from the various schemes available and has helped minimise the damaging effect of the pandemic on members’ businesses.
TTA also continues to strengthen its profile within construction industry organisations, such as the Construction Products Association and Build UK, who have the ear of Government. Regular engagement with these bodies enables TTA to lobby on behalf of members for greater clarity on the regulations when it has been needed, and also to represent members’ needs when new regulations affecting the tiling sector and our members are drafted.
