Following a successful trip to Cersaie, Ceramique Internationale claims to be the first UK distributor to offer an exclusive new collection of glazed Italian tiles from Marazzi to UK retailers. Lume is a collection of 60 by 240mm gloss-effect porcelain stoneware tiles in six attractive tones including Blue, Green, Musk, and Greige. Offering a contemporary take on a Moroccan tradition, Lume is manufactured in modern kilns to reproduce the charm of historic hand-made Zellige tiles, and features irregular edges, glaze variations, and life-like flawed surfaces. The range is part of Marazzi’s Crogiolo collection – which translates from Italian to mean ‘crucible’ or ‘melting pot’ – reflecting the tile’s exotic heritage.
Director of Ceramique Internationale, Peter Vann, said: “Lume was the star of the show for Marazzi at Cersaie, and we are sure it will be an equally big hit here in the UK. Zellige is the latest glazing effect boasting stunning worn-out, non-uniform colour and surface variations that reflect the light, and we are excited to launch this exclusive offering to our customers.”
