Ceramic surface webinars

February 2021

Following the success of the webinar on production technologies for antibacterial ceramic surfaces, CeramicWorldWeb shifted its attention to the end-of-line stage in the third Tecna Next webinar - Developments in ceramic surface finishing - held on 10th and 11th February.

The event welcomed leading companies from the sector - BMR, Premier, Surfaces Group, and Unilin Technologies - who presented their latest technological innovations in the field of lapping, polishing, squaring, and other finishing processes for tiles and slabs.

In the webinar, Marco Sichi and Francesco Incerti from BMR discussed the advantages of a digitalised finishing process in terms of dynamism, sustainability and efficiency.

Next, Piergiorgio Trevisan and Antonio Dinale from Premier presented the results obtained with the new satellite tool used for both lapping and polishing and compared its performance with that of traditional tools.

Simone Sorrentino from Surfaces Group then discussed aesthetic quality and higher productivity in the polishing of technical and glazed porcelain and explained the characteristics of the new Flat Reflex Polishing System developed by the group.

The webinar was introduced by Gian Paolo Crasta, deputy director of Acimac; Paola Giacomini, editor of Ceramic World Review; and Angela Bellavista, brand manager of Italian Exhibition Group.
