Anti-bacterial components are now widely used in domestic and leisure settings; and feature not only in tile manufacture, but also in finishing products, including grout and silicone.
Tilemaster Adhesives’ own range includes Grout 3000 and Silicone 3000+: two anti-bacterial systems that ensure a newly installed kitchen, bathroom or wet room maintains its fresh appearance for years to come.
Revamped earlier this year, new Grout 3000 is now available in 18 shades and offers mould- and water-resistance, and remains efflorescence free. The new formulation is suitable for a wider range of grout joints - from 1mm to 20mm in depth and width - and offers a quicker setting time in the joint. It is also easier to mix, apply, and to wash off the face of the tile.
Grout 3000 can be used with all types of tile – indoors and outside - and its flexible formulation is suitable for timber substrates, underfloor heating systems, outdoor installations, and wet areas. It has a working time of around 30 to 45 minutes; joints can accept foot traffic after approximately three hours, with a final set time of 24 hours.
Tilemaster Silicone 3000+ completes the installation, creating a fully waterproof and mould-resistant seal between sanitaryware and a tiled finish. The premium sealants are offered in colour-matched shades for the whole Grout 3000 range and are ideal for areas subject to prolonged wet conditions, including showers and wet rooms. Silicone 3000+ can also be used externally, so is ideal for swimming pool and leisure environments.
