The Rilievi collection by Cedit (Ceramiche d'Italia) also won at the 68th edition of the Good Design Awards.
Annually awarded by the Chicago Athenaeum, Museum of Architecture and Design, they are recognised as the world’s most prestigious international design award.
Selected for its striking aesthetic impact, the series designed by Zaven - Enrica Cavarzan and Marco Zavagno - Rilievi triumphed in the Floor and Wall Covering category. This range breaks the traditional rules of ceramic: 3D elements with different geometrical patterns and colours decorate the large Cedit slabs, transforming the walls and the spaces into scenic compositions.
Rilievi transforms two-dimensional signs into volume, an aim that the two designers have been pursuing for some time. Previewed at Fuorisalone 2018, this range plays on the modular repetition of a 3D element that is always arranged in a different way. It is a sculptural project that combines the excellence of craftsmanship with the qualities of industrial production: two key factors in Cedit’s DNA.
