Clerkenwell Design Week, the London event dedicated to design and architectural trends, was very positive for Ceramiche Caesar, the Italian manufacturer with a showroom at the heart of London’s design hub.
During the three days of CDW, Urban Lab - the company’s showroom in Great Sutton Street - welcomed over 1,000 visitors, including architects, journalists and designers.
At the event, Caesar presented, for the first time in Europe, Fabula and Anima Select, two new porcelain stoneware collections.
Great interest was expressed about the CrossDesign Contest 2017, the contest for international architects and designers. Inspired by the CrossDesign Magazine 2016-2017, a tool and guideline for design developed and published by Ceramiche Caesar, the contest invites people working in the sector to create an architectural project for an area of the new Caesar Gallery, the company showroom that will be opened in September 2017.
Between 23rd and 25th May Urban Lab became a meeting place for professionals of the sector that have had the opportunity to experience a dynamic approach to design that takes account of the latest trends in the field of ceramics but also in the fields of fashion and visual art in general.
This concept was perfectly expressed by the three live performances from Curtis Hylton, a London artist from the Graffiti Life team, chosen by Caesar to enliven the afternoon events of the Urban Lab. Hylton used 1,200 by 1,200mm ceramic slabs as backgrounds for his own interpretation of the three design moods: Rise, Reverb and Peaceful.
