“Jonathon Minoli, Managing Director of Minoli, says: “We at Minoli are truly delighted to be recognised by The Tile Association again this year, for the Excellence in Distribution Award.

“As a company we regard ourselves as one of the original distributors within the UK and one of the few that actually invest in the distribution network in the market place.  2014 marks the fourth consecutive year that the judges have awarded us an award which we regard as the most prestigious of the night.

“This award and the recognition of the work carried out by the team at Minoli will only spur us on to more and better things during 2014 and beyond.”

John Harris, Managing Director of Harper & Edwards, who took the Gold Award for Excellence in Tile Contracting, says: “We are delighted that this has come in our 25th year, as recognition for the efforts and hard work of all our staff and tilers since we were founded.  As a London company, the event was easy for us to attend – the choice of venue was excellent and I would like to thank the organisers for all their hard work.”

Patrick Jenner, Regional Retail Sales Manager at N&C Tiles & Bathrooms, who took the Gold Award for Excellence in Multiple Retailing, adds: “These are the first TTA Awards I’ve been to, and it’s a very proud day.  I run five of the six branches around London, and we are continually growing year-on-year, always driving forward. This has come at a great time for us.”

The increasingly high profile TTA Awards once again attracted some of the biggest names in the industry as event sponsors. These included: BAL, FILA Surface Care Products, James Hardie, Laticrete, Mapei, Rubi and Schlüter Systems.

Peter Bell, Managing Director of sponsor BAL says: “The new format of a lunchtime event in London makes a nice refreshing change, and I congratulate the TTA on trying different things.  It all adds to the positive vibe in the industry at the moment.  It is really taking off again, with a genuine recovery going on. Quarter 1 was very strong – everybody is talking the market up.”

For the TTA, the 2014 Awards mark the beginning of a new chapter in the Association’s growth.  TTA Chairman, Ian Kershaw, says: “Firstly, I’d like to congratulate all those who were finalists in our Awards this year. You are all winners and your achievement makes our industry proud. In particular, of course, very well done to those individuals and those companies who came away with the Gold rosettes in the various categories.”

“I look forward to welcoming everybody again in a year’s time, when we will be looking back on what promises to be a very busy year for the TTA, with new branding, new website and a host of other initiatives which will enable us to represent our members’ interests even better.”
“I was particularly happy this year that we were able to raise such a good sum for The Children Today Charitable Trust, showing once again what a warm hearted industry we are.”

The Tile Association announces 2014 Awards finalists

The TTA Awards – the tiling industry’s most glittering event of the year – are just a month away.  With a move this year to a lunchtime event and a new central London venue – the Hilton Metropole – the Awards are more convenient, and more cost-effective, to attend than ever before.

As the build-up to the 25th April main event accelerates, under the theme “London Calling!”, the organisers have now released the names of the 60 finalists in all 16 categories.

These cover product categories, such as Best Wall Tile and Best Floor Tile, and also include awards to recognise innovation as well as individual achievement such as Employee of the Year, Tile Fixer of the Year and, new for this year, Trainee of the Year.

There are also project awards and awards to recognise the top environmental and marketing initiatives of the past year.

With a well-known host – Emma Jesson from ITV – and an exciting new venue, the Awards this year promise to be the must-attend event of the year. Organised by The Tile Association, the event will have a fresh new feel for 2014.

The aim will be to provide an excellent day out and a superb networking opportunity for the whole industry, and also to justify the generous involvement of the event sponsors for this year: BAL, FILA Surface Care Products, James Hardie, Laticrete, Mapei, Rubi and Schlüter Systems .

The occasion will include a sumptuous meal and entertainment, as well as the Award presentations themselves.

TTA Chairman, Ian Kershaw, says: “We look forward to welcoming the industry to London on 25th April, and we hope to make this year’s Awards an occasion to remember. Most importantly of all it is a special occasion for all the Awards finalists, and I would like to take the opportunity of congratulating them all on their achievement so far.”
“Whoever comes away with the trophy on the day, all those who have been judged finalists are winners already. Well done to you all, and I look forward to seeing everybody at The Hilton Metropole!”

There are still a small number of individual places and tables available to purchase for the event. For more information please contact TTA on 0300 365 8453 or email  info@tile.org.uk
