The final frontier

The final frontier

February 2020

It is not just in Europe that 20mm external porcelain is taking the landscaping and architectural markets by storm.  In the USA, Landmark Ceramics has introduced the Bluestone Design Project: a premium line inspired by the finest Pennsylvania native bluestone, widely used for prestigious projects all over North America.

This highly versatile outdoor collection delivers a broad range of colours, sizes, trim pieces, and finishes, in order to meet the demands of total look outdoor projects.

A high-grade flaming process, grants the tile its refined, rough-textured surface called thermal.  Another option is natural or cleft; a traditional, natural split-stone finish that highlights the stone’s uniquely layered structure.  The third surface option is tumbled: a prestigious finish that lends the surface a distinctive antiqued look that is both rugged yet elegant.

The Bluestone Design Project explores the most exceptional and defining traits of the Pennsylvania native bluestone, such as the Blue Select colour, known for its uniform and intense grey-blue shade, or the Full Color alternative, where polychromy and dynamic design meet to create an array of combinations.  Bluestone Design Project also revisits the prestigious Tumbled design, breathing new life into a historical pattern and the Cobblestone variant, enriched by infinite multicoloured nuances.

Bluestone Design Project offers an ample choice of customizable solutions, with options ranging from the standard 24 by 24in (600 by 600mm) format to 12 by 24in (300 by 600mm), 24 by 26in (600 by 650mm), 24 by 48in (600 by 1,200mm), and 12 by 12in (300 by 300mm). The antiqued Tumbled finish is available in the 9 by 9in (225 by 225mm)  and 9 by 18in (225 by 450mm) versions, while the Cobblestone model comes in the traditional Cube pattern or in the unique Multisize variant.
