Larsen Building Products continues to see exceptional growth in the UK. Part of the Larsen group of companies that have been manufacturing quality products since 1975, Larsen Building Products has now grown to become a market leading manufacturer of a comprehensive range of products for the construction and civil engineering industries.
The purpose-built, computer-controlled, manufacturing facility in the port of Belfast has a production capacity of over 2000 bags per hour. Larsen has seen growth across all four of its main markets: Tiling, Flooring, Highways, and Streetscape. This has resulted in the sales teams expanding to support the growth, based out of the Birmingham sales office.
Paul Luff, National Sales and Marketing Manager Tiling and Flooring, says it is all about service and products, and both have to be market leading in order to sustain growth.
“Adhesives is a very competitive marketplace but excellent customer retention, backed up by excellent customer acquisitions, has seen this growth outperform the marketplace. The last few years have been very positive and we are also positive about the future. We are seeing this growth across the whole country.”
“Larsen has spent, and continues to invest, lots of time developing the ranges and formulating products to suit our market while keeping the emphasis on simplicity with performance. From adhesives, to grouts and primers, to levelling compounds, we have all corners covered.”
Larsen Colourfast 360 Grout has proven to be a real success story. Larsen now produce record volumes of grout from their entire 40+ years of manufacturing. Larsen Colourfast 360 grout is a specially-formulated, flexible, rapid setting tile grout. This advanced formulation uses Colourfast technology to ensure uniform joint colour, free from efflorescence. Professional Colourfast 360 is suitable for use as a flexible wall and floor grout. The fine texture provides a smooth, stain, mould and water resistant finish that is suitable for use on most tile types including glazed and unglazed ceramic, porcelain, natural stone and glass tiles. Colourfast technology utilises advanced polymers, additives and a proprietary hydraulic binder which is free from Portland cement.
More recent developments have seen the launch of two new key levelling compounds: a single part rapid setting (30 minutes) fibre re-enforced and a revolutionary external grade to support the growth we are seeing in external porcelain sales. The latter is a real first for Larsen and has been exceptionally well received by all, further demonstrating how Larsen is leading the way.
Larsen Building Products have also strengthened their highly regarded range of primers with the addition of the super-fast setting Primer Grip360.
Larsen Primer Grip360 is a hybrid primer for the ultimate mechanical key. It is a high performance bonding agent specifically designed for tiling and flooring installations. Formulated with advanced polymers and special fine aggregate, it is a universal multi-purpose primer. Larsen Primer Grip360 is designed to provide an improved mechanical key to all common absorbent and non-absorbent backgrounds including plaster, plasterboard, timber, concrete, epoxy DPM, flooring grade asphalt and glazed tiles. Larsen Primer Grip360 is rapid drying and can be tiled over or levelled in as little as 15-20 minute
Paul Luff comments: “The range is now very thorough and we have really focused on fixer-led benefits from rapid setting levelling compounds and primers for time saving, to enhancing the tanking kits with Butyl self-adhesive tapes plus launching de coupling membranes so we can now offer full systems.“
“The growth we are seeing and predicting is down to the work of our overall team both on the road and in Belfast, coupled with feedback and requests from our customers and shows that we do not just listen but react as well.”
